If you want a friendly, group setting to learn new skills and build relationships within the climbing community, then these clinics will get you there! Each clinic is designed to teach specific techniques or skills with a hands-on approach at a reasonable cost in a group environment. All the gear required will be provided but feel free to bring your own. Clinics will be held at the McDowell Mountains or Mount Lemmon. 2 Day Trad Climbing

Learn how to Trad Climb in the epic setting of Joshua Tree National Park. The focus of this climbing trip is to empower your personal climbing skills. You will learn how to place individual traditional climbing anchors, how to assess their effectiveness, how to remove them, and how to make multipoint bomber belay anchors. With a 4:1 climber/guide ratio you are certain to receive personal attention and instruction. An experienced, professionally certified guide will teach you all the tips and tricks of outdoor trad climbing to give you the skills to be safe and independent. Clean And Rappel

If you are wanting to climb outside safely, come out on the rock and learn how to by mastering the essential skills of cleaning a route and rappelling. StoneMan climbing guides have studied the current and safest methods for route cleaning and rappelling. During this 6 hour clinic you will learn how to keep you and your climbing partners safe at the crag.

Self-Rescue

The StoneMan Advanced Self Rescue full day course is designed to prepare you for the worst scenarios you might encounter when climbing a multi-pitch route. No matter if you are wanting to climb multi-pitch or you have been climbing multi-pitch for years, the rescue skills learned in this course are applicable to the most advanced rescue scenarios in the multi-pitch environment. It is strongly recommended that you either take the StoneMan Introduction to Self Rescue Course or be comfortable with the skills taught in that course prior to taking the Advanced Rescue Course. Having a current First Aid and CPR, or more advanced medical certification is also recommended but not required. When you have the content of this course mastered it will make you a better climbing partner and real benefit to the climbing community. You will know what to do when it matters the most. It is certain to make you a safer climber.

Your instructor Caleb has been climbing since 2002, practicing as a registered nurse since 2008, is currently Lead Guide and Rescue certified from Professional Climbing Guides Institute (PCGI), serves as a PCGI mentor training new rock climbing guides, holds a current TNCC Trauma Nurse certification, and most importantly he is very passionate about educating other climbers regarding worst case scenarios. The course will be held outside and is designed to be a primarily hands on course allowing you to dial your rescue skills in the presence of an experienced climbing guide. There will be time for interactive discussion with real life scenarios to help you make the best choices in difficult situations.

Cancellation Policy

Our cancellation policy excluding weather is to have you notify us 72 hours (3 days) prior to the trip to reschedule or to receive a full refund. You may cancel your trip for ½ price refund 36 hours (1.5 days) prior to the scheduled time. If you must cancel within 36 hours of the class there will be no refund. If weather causes a cancellation then you may reschedule the class for a later date or time or receive a full refund.
